Preventive and acute care for the outer islands has been unjustly minimal due to the distance from the hospital and the lack of priorities given by the State to needs of the outer islands. The Fanapi Foundation supports the Fanapi Center in its effort to fund health education programs and the building of a centrally located health clinic specifically for the outer islanders and collaborate with humanitarian organizations globally to send volunteers to provide direct medical and acute dental care while training the local personnel in basic health care skills.
Support preventative health care through community health education clinics and programs in the outer islands or at a health clinic at the Fanapi Center for all registered citizens of the Northwest region.
Coordinate professional development opportunities for outer islanders in health-related fields to improve their skills. Provide scholarships to outer island college students who wish to get into health-related fields and return to work in the islands.
Recruit and coordinate teams of volunteer dentists, medical personnel from partner medical associations in the global community to visit the Fanapi Center and the outer island dispensaries to serve the health needs of the outer islands.
Oversee the renovation or building of health dispensaries in teh outer islans and proper training of the personnel who work in the dispensaries.
